James Darkin

Music Producer | Sound Engineer

With a diverse musical taste and unique style, James Darkin is one of the most exciting of Ireland’s new generation of producers and engineers. James cut his teeth at Temple Lane Recording Studios in Dublin, working alongside influential producers Michael Beinhorn, Stephen Street and Will.i.am, and on sessions with Kanye West, Sinead O'Connor and Rihanna, for Eminem's ‘Love The Way You Lie’.

James was a founding partner of Herbert Place Studios in Dublin City, before the studio expanded and moved location to a new residential studio facility at Black Mountain Recording Studios.

He has engineered sessions for Anne Marie, Black Eyed Peas, James Vincent McMorrow, The Waterboys, Fun Lovin' Criminals, Paolo Nutini, and three chart topping albums for Turkish band Duman.

James has mixed songs for Hozier, Gavin James and The Murder Capital, as well as mastering for Dermot Kennedy, Naxos Records and Heresy Records.

He has released two albums of his own, 'Go No Matter What’ described by RTE 2FM DJ Dan Hegarty as “one of the albums of the year”, and 'Remixes Vol. I' featuring Katie Kim, RSAG and Jerry Fish to name a few.

James is currently signed with Tremolo Music Publishing.
