With his diverse musical taste and strong work ethic, James Darkin is one of the most exciting of Ireland’s new generation of producers and mix engineers. James cut his teeth at Temple Lane Recording Studios in Dublin, working alongside influential producers Michael Beinhorn, Stephen Street and Will.i.am, and on recording sessions with Kanye West, Sinead O'Connor and Rihanna, for Eminem's ‘Love The Way You Lie’.
James is currently involved in a new studio partnership with renowned Muse live engineer Marc Carolan at Herbert Place Studios in Dublin, where he has engineered sessions for Gavin James, Caoimhín Ó Raghallaigh of The Gloaming and the SOMA Live Sessions featuring WOLFF.
James has mixed projects for Hozier, Gavin James and The Funeral Suits, and engineered three chart topping albums for Turkish rock band Duman. He is currently working with Irish artists A Great Quiet, Cry Harridan, Sub Motion, Pursued by Dogs, Chris Haze, CPNHGN, Saint Jrdn, Propeller Palms, Seo Linn and is a member of Dublin band Wound's.
He has released two albums of his own to date, 'Go No Matter What’ described by influential RTE 2FM DJ Dan Hegarty as “one of the albums of the year”, and 'Remixes Vol. I' featuring Bantum, Katie Kim, and Come On Live Long to name but a few. He is currently signed with Tremolo Music Publishing.
